The Shire Vintage and Collectables Fair is almost here!
The Rotary Club of Sutherland's annual fundraising event is back again.
Come find the treasured, unique and antique all in the one place this long weekend.
Over 60 tables of unique, old and collectable items will be on sale at the Rotary Club of Sutherland’s Shire Vintage and Collectables Fair at the Sutherland Basketball Stadium, over the King’s Birthday Long Weekend.
Items for sale will include estate jewellery, vintage clothing, ceramics, silverware, vintage toys, dolls, coins, pre-loved books, and military regalia, as well as a collection of 50’s and 60’s records for those who can’t beat the classics.
Club President, Alan Heighway, says, “This event is the Shire’s own version of Antiques Roadshow! We’ll even have a licensed valuer there to tell you if you’re holding a treasure. Spend an hour or two browsing some rare and unexpected items that you might not see elsewhere – all while helping our club help the community.”
All money raised through the $6 entry charge will go toward both local and international Rotary projects. The club’s Schoolmates program is a particular winner, through which the club provides everything from textbooks to school camps to Shire kids in need. Funds will also go toward fighting disease through Rotary’s PolioPlus program, local Rotary Projects and supporting other charities that make a difference in our community. Last year over $17,500 was raised for worthy causes.
In addition to the items for sale, vintage and classic cars will also be on display throughout the day for the enthusiasts. Valuations will be performed by licensed valuer Sam Buxton for $5 per item, and there will be barista coffee and hot food available for the day.
The Fair will open from 9:00am to 4:00pm and children with an adult are free.
